LEFAMI · FOR OVERSEAS BUYERS
Wood importer’s guide: buying from Vietnam
Review supplier traceability, B2B specifications, shipping records and wood packaging. Build a document checklist in English and export it for your team to update offline.
What to establish before a timber order
Know the supplier and the lot
Identify the seller, processor and exporter. Connect species and harvest information to the goods, including mixed inputs or subcontracted processing.
Agree measurable acceptance
Specify the final product, quantity basis, moisture-check method and inspection responsibilities before production.
Plan both document routes
Ask the exporter about Vietnam-side records and the importer / broker about destination requirements, with clear owners and timing.
View the Vietnam domestic legal and accounting reference in Vietnamese →
Build your importer document checklist
Work through four steps, or view all fields. Use an unverified / unconfirmed option where the facts are still open.
Selections, names and notes stay in this open page and are not submitted to the server. Export Excel before closing, reloading or opening another enquiry.
Importer document-review checklist
Open each item to read the conditions, source and responsible party. Update Status, Assigned to and Notes before exporting. “Received” records receipt; it is not a compliance approval.

Prepared by LEFAMI for buyers reviewing timber purchases from Vietnam. The practical guides are written in English; linked Vietnamese legislation remains in its original language. This is an adapted importer resource, not an official translation, supplier certification or complete legal opinion for any country.
25 October 2026: added four guides and the English checklist. Product-specific requirements, tariffs and permits remain matters to verify for the actual transaction.
